A Duke Of Her Own
The financial problems of her family sends Lady Louisa Wentworth into a position of a chaperon to an American heiress. Resigned with the fact that she will be a spinster, she sets out to marry off Miss Jenny Rose.
Randolph, the Duke of Hawkhurst(Hawk) needs to marry for money and as soon as possible. He needs an heiress and Jenny Rose will do. Unfortunately the most annoying lady is her chaperon. Hawk needs Louisa’s help to court Miss Rose but she refuses to subject her ward to a man like Hawkhurst. She knew he was a rake and now a fortune hunter.
At a party Hawk and Louisa share a dance. He wants to convince her that he could be a good suitor to her charge. Instead she dreams of being the one he is pursuing. She know she has nothing to offer a husband financially so she concentrates on getting her heiress married off. Hawk woes Miss Jenny but somehow can’t get her chaperon out of his mind.
Unfortunately Hawk is getting more desperate to close the deal. The heiress is not making her decision fast enough for him. He devises a plan to compromise Miss Jenny but instead of the heiress in his arms it is her chaperone. Louisa and Hawk are caught and she is completely ruined……
Lorraine Heath is a very good author. I was impressed with the story and enjoyed reading it! I loved the characters.

Lady At Last
This is a story about a pirate’s daughter Amanda. She comes from the island of Jamaica. Raised on the island she has always been able to run free and she is often around rough people. She can do anything that a man can do when it comes to sailing.
Cliff De Warenne is a very wealthy man known all over the island. He isthe youngest son of the Earl of Adare and a captain of many ships. He lives on the island most of the time. He had often seen Amanda out around the island.
At the hanging of her father, Amanda was attacked by the onlookers with rocks and Cliff had to rescue her. Before her father was hung he asked Amanda to go to England and find her mother. Amanda had no means to do this so Cliff volunteered to take her to England on his ship.
She was not a polished lady and Cliff decided that he would help her become one and announced himself her guardian. Along the way he found the lovely flower hidden among the weeds and fell in love with her. Amanda had fallen in love with him as soon as he rescued her.
Cliff insists that he will marry her off but can he stand to let her go to another man’s bed………
This book is a part of the De Warenne dynasty series. Brenda Joyce sure knows how to tell a story. I enjoyed it.
Other stories in the series: The Stolen Bride, The Masquerade, The Prize, and coming in August 2007 The Perfect Bride.

The Prince Kidnaps A Bride
After a revolution there were three princesses sent far away to be safe. This is the story of one of those princesses. Her name is Sorcha. Sorcha was sent off to a Scottish convent to escape death. She had not seen or heard from her family from years. She didn’t even know if her sisters or grandma were still alive. She knew that her father had been killed fighting and that her fiance was captured and murdered.
Sorcha was content to live at the convent until someone came to bring her back home. One day a lone fisherman comes upon the shore of the convent and claims he has lost his boat. The convent is known to help stray travelers so they let the fisherman stay for awhile. Sorcha is drawn to this man even though he acts like an idiot. There is something familiar about him.
Rainger is that fisherman dressed in disguise. His job is to get the princess and take her back to her kingdom to marry her but he doesn’t know if she will go if she knows who he is. He was once an young arrogant boy that never had any time or patience for his fiance. He was too busy with all of his lovers and Sorcha always resented him for it.
Assassins are sent to kill Sorcha so she has to escape. She goes with Rainger(silly fisherman in disguise) and they set out for her country. Along the way Sorcha falls in love with Rainger and they end up married. Sorcha thinks she is marrying a commoner but she soon finds out who her husband really is. Can she still love him now that she knows….
This story is by Christina Dodd. It is part of the lost princesses series. I have read all three and I love this series. The only thing about this last one is that it went on forever. I actually got bored and put it down a few times. I love reading books by this author but this story just didn’t keep me glued to the couch until I finished it. I always recommend books even though I might not have totally loved it because my opinion could be different from yours.
Looking forward to any comments you have on this book! Happy Reading!
